Terms & Conditions Of Sale

The Dawes warranty

Your warranty is only valid if you have purchased your cycle and it has had a pre-delivery safety inspection carried out by the dealer which you bought the bike from.  Cycles purchased online from Dawes Cycles Limited and delivered directly to a Touring Specialist for collection should have had a pre-delivery inspection. When you collect your cycle it should come complete with an owner’s handbook. Details of what is covered are detailed on the first page of this handbook. Alternatively, the latest version of this handbook is available in the ‘Downloads’ section of this website.

Pricing

Prices charged will be the ruling price at time of order placement.  Prices are only firm when the order has been confirmed.

We reserve the right to amend prices dependent upon market forces.

VAT

All prices include VAT where applicable at the UK rate of 15%. Although customers from the Channel Islands do not have to pay VAT, we are unable to deduct it from the order so we will collect it and pass it on to Customs and Excise in the normal way.

Special Offers

At any one time we may have 2 types of special offers:

‘Limited Time period’ –
these will be shown with an offer end date and after this time the product will revert back to normal retail prices. The price you pay is that which is confirmed at time of order confirmation and not delivery. In the event that we run out of stock before the offer ends the item will be removed from sale and if you have placed an order that we cannot fulfil we will try to offer you an alternative or refund your money.

‘While Stocks Last’ –
these products will stay at the reduced price until all stock has been sold.

End of line stock

In the event that we run out of stock after your order has been confirmed on a product that is end of line, we will try to offer you an alternative or refund your money.

Order placement

By placing an order on this website you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set out therein. If you do not agree to be bound by these terms and conditions then you may not order any products from this site.

Order Acceptance

Payments will be accepted or declined at the end of the checkout process when you press the confirm order button.

Full payment for the order will be taken when you confirm the order. This includes all products even if some are not available for immediate despatch. You will be notified at the time of purchase if a product is out of stock and you can cancel the order at that time if you wish.

We will send you an order confirmation detailing your pending delivery and the amount paid.
The contract for sale is created at this point.

Collection of your cycle

Your cycle will be delivered to the Touring Specialist of your choice so you can be sure the bicycle is properly assembled and ready for you to ride. The pre-delivery inspection is a prerequisite safety check we demand for all of our products for your safety and to ensure your warranty is valid.

The cost of the pre-delivery inspection is included in the purchase price of your cycle.

Please note we do not deliver cycles directly to private addresses and we currently only offer the ability to collect in store in the UK mainland only

Once delivered, the Touring Specialist will contact you to arrange a convenient time for you to collect your purchase. This will allow sufficient time for the dealer to be able to carry out the pre-delivery safety inspection.

For security reasons you must bring along your order confirmation and photographic idenetification when collecting your purchase. The Touring Specialist will either stamp your confirmation or give you a dated receipt to acknowledge that your purchase has been collected. If you are unable to print off the confirmation you will be required to take the order number along with proof of identification. You will be asked to sign the pre delivery inspection manifest to agree your acceptance of the cycle.

Non-collection of goods

Your chosen Touring Specialist will notify you of the date that your purchase will be ready in store for collection. They will undertake to hold these goods for you for 30 days from the notified collection date. If after 30 days you have still not collected your goods then we are entitled to regard the contract for the goods as cancelled and we will have the right to dispose of the goods as we see fit.

Returning a product

Dawes Cycles Limited will refund or exchange any product purchased via our website, but your return must be accompanied by a completed returns form which the Touring Specialist will fill out, unless faulty, be notified within 7 days of collection from the Touring Specialist. The form is available here.  Please ensure you have followed the full returns procedure which will ensure your return can be processed in a timely manner.

Unless faulty, a returned cycle must be as new and unridden.  Please ensure that the size is correct and that you are happy with your purchase before leaving the shop or riding the bike.

Cycles must be returned to us in the original box, with all labels attached and protective internal packing still in place to protect the cycle from scratches and damage. The box must be re-sealed securely to fully protect the cycle on its return journey.

If accessories have been fitted to the cycle, then it is no longer deemed new and in a saleable condition and you will not be able to return it to us unless it is faulty.

You will need to pay the cost of returning the cycle to us and a £25 administration charge will be applied. We will arrange for a courier to collect the cycle from your appointed Touring Specialist.

In respect of faulty items, for your convenience and as part of our inspection procedure, the nearest Touring Specialist to your postcode will be chosen automatically as the partner for any warranty inspection. Please contact or visit this retail partner so they can inspect your cycle and arrange directly with us the recommended course of action.
